πŸŽ₯ Presentation: Film Hub North

🎬 Projection: "A Bunch of Amateurs" with Q&A

We're pleased to offer a special screening of the well-received documentary "A Bunch of Amateurs," followed by an insightful Q&A session with director Kim Hopkins, producer Margareta Szabo, and key characters from the film.

Kim Hopkins, based in Yorkshire and a NFTS graduate, has garnered attention with this incredible documentary. The film was a success at Sheffield DocFest, received 2 Grierson award nominations, and was shortlisted for BAFTA & BIFA. Kim's earlier work, "Voices of the Sea," also gained international recognition and several awards.

Margareta Szabo, co-founder of Labor of Love Films, is a skilled film producer originally from Budapest, Hungary. She's a Berlinale Talents alumna and was recognised by Creative UK's Female Founders initiative in 2022 as a rising female entrepreneur in Britain.

"A Bunch of Amateurs" chronicles the story of Bradford Movie Makers, one of the world's oldest amateur filmmaking clubs, as they face challenges to keep their passions alive and their community going strong. This funny and touching film about artistic dedication is essential viewing for creatives.

‍
Please note: because this is such a fully loaded programme we are starting our May event a little earlier and finishing up a little later to cram it all in. The fantastic documentary we are showing has a runtime of 95 mins. so we will aim to adjust the other segments to accommodate.

🀝 Networking: We'll dedicate time at the end for you to connect with fellow creatives
