Flow & Find: Mudlarking with Clare Shaw
Mudlarking is the art of searching the river bank for interesting objects. Join Northern Broadsides for an expedition on the banks of the River Calder with The Halifax Canoe Club and local writer (and treasure hunter!) Clare Shaw. Expect to find a myriad of pottery, Victorian glass and even a few rubber ducks, if you’re lucky!
Please note:
Gloves provided. This activity is weather dependent, if conditions are not suitable, it may be rescheduled. Please wear suitable shoes e.g. Wellies. For ages 12+ if accompanied by an adult. Only 12 places available so don’t delay signing up if you are interested!
Halifax Canoe Club is based at Greenup Mill, next to the River Calder in Sowerby Bridge, Halifax. The Club is an active and family orientated canoe club, running coached sessions and trips away all year round. They also offer beginners courses on the river or in the pool depending on the time of year.
The multi-ward winning club is based in the centre of Sowerby Bridge, where they make good use of both the flat water and man-made white water course on the River Calder.
