The following has been sent to us from Flying Duck Studio Lab. Please check their website and social media for updates on workshop times:
We invite you to be part of an exciting initiative, "Tales of a Child," in collaboration with Calderdale Valley of Sanctuary, Calderdale Libraries, local artists, and residents. This unique project offers five dynamic activities leading to an exhibition. Our aim is to address social issues and promote refugee integration through art.
“Tales of a Child” is a short documentary animation, still in development by the Creative Studio, Flying Duck Studio Lab, about a Syrian girl who flees warfare with her father and arrives in the UK to face new challenges and integration. Though having been through a lot, the girl dreams of a bright future, a career after school and being part of a new community and society.
So far, Flying Duck Studio Lab, The Valley of Sanctuary and Calderdale Libraries have had the pleasure of organising and discussing the best approach to deliver the activities in the most impactful way. We are now ready to start spreading the word.
2 x Focus Groups for local and refugee community - registration required, limited space (30 people in total per Focus Group)

As part of the Focus Groups in September, we are also on the lookout for volunteers who have experience with similar activities, refugee community and childcare. We will need a few DBS checked volunteers to look after children during the Focus Groups and 1-2 volunteers participating in the Focus Groups. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please contact Josephine via email: contact@flyingduckstudiolab.co.uk and state whether it is for childcare or helping out with the Focus Groups. We look forward to hearing from you :)
