Looking for something fun to do with the kids this summer? Look no further! Bankfield Museum have a range of activities during the summer holidays to get involved in. See below for a list of workshops with descriptions, tickets are bookable via the Calderdale Museums Ticketsource linked below.

All workshops are suitable for children from 5 to 12 years, materials are provided, and children must be accompanied by an adult (though only the child needs a ticket). This event will be held in the Education Room, which is located on the first floor of Bankfield Museum. Please contact museum.learning@calderdale.gov.uk to discuss any access needs. There are 3 sessions for each workshop day, at 10am, 11:30am, and 1:30pm.

Clay Cactus - Tuesday 12 August

Suitable for children from 5 to 12 years, make a clay cactus using air-drying clay and paint your own decorative pot.

Wet Felting - Wednesday 13 August

Discover the magic of felting in this summer landscape themed workshops and learn how to make your own handmade felt picture using an array of colourful sheep’s wool. Suitable for children from 5 to 12 years.

Beach Huts - Wednesday 20 August

Dive into sun, sand, and seaside-inspired fun to create a beach themed piece of art that includes seaside accessories, ocean backdrops, sandy textures, and maybe even a cheeky crab or two.

Glass Painting - Tuesday 26 August

Design and paint your very own glass vase with cute characters or cool patterns, the design is all up to you, before finishing off your masterpiece with some colourful paper flowers.

Finger Puppets - Wednesday 27 August

Make a whole troupe of finger puppets to take home - creepy crawlies, tiny people, or scary monsters, what will you create?
