
Calder Groove: Youth Music Collective
Calder Groove is a youth music collective in Calderdale that aims to empower young musicians and industry professionals through skill-sharing and events.
It offers programs like a bootcamp for those under 25 to learn about putting on gigs, setting up labels, and navigating the music industry. The collective also hosts events, such as an upcoming partnership with Launchpad for a music industry support day in Halifax, featuring panel discussions and networking opportunities, held on Tuesday 18th November at the new CultureDale Lounge, Unit 4 Northgate House, Market Street, Halifax HX1 1UR.
What is it

- Bootcamp: A six-week program covering aspects like putting on live events, behind-the-scenes logistics, DIY record labels, creating promotional materials, and career pathways in the music industry.
 - Events: Calder Groove organizes and participates in events designed to offer insights and opportunities. For example, it partnered with Launchpad for a music industry support day in Halifax, which included panels on topics like the artist's journey, live music, and industry support. It is also running grass roots music days at venues like The Puzzle Hall Inn, Sowerby Bridge.
 - Networking: Events are designed to foster connections among young people and music professionals.
