Calderdale Music Network
Calderdale is a thriving Borough Of Music. Right across our region there are countless ways to get involved, for amateur and professional performers, backstage and technical skills, and of course for audiences and participants.
We want to bring everyone together in one place, to share what you’re doing, to find out about new opportunities, and to have a collective ‘voice’ for music in the borough. What else should we be doing? What are our strengths, but also where are the gaps?
The Calderdale Music Network is open to all. Whatever the scale and size of your musical activity we want to hear from you. From classical music to jazz, folk to traditional South Asian music, choirs and brass bands to Indie pop and bell-ringing, this network is for you. It’s for venues and music makers, songwriters and promoters, for people who teach music to people who sell audio equipment.
What will the Calderdale Music Network do
Joining the network is free. You’ll be invited to network meetings to share what you’re doing and find out what other groups and individuals have planned. We’ll have a ‘clash diary’ where you can post your events and hopefully avoid ‘clashing’ with something another group is putting on.
Over the coming months we will bring together ‘working groups’ from within the network, giving us deeper insight into music in the borough. Themes for the groups will include Career Pathways, Participatory Music, Creative Spaces, and Opportunities for Young People. If you sign up to join the network, please let us know if you’d like to join one of these groups.
Register here to be a part of the network and to be kept informed when future meetings are planned
Thank you for your interest in the Music Network. We hope it’s useful, and that together we can grow and celebrate Calderdale’s rich musical landscape.
