Halifax
February 18, 2026
TIME:
14:00 - 15:30
This month, Unmasked Mental Health are exploring the incredible past of Shibden Hall, one of Calderdale’s most iconic historic buildings.
Join us for our February Unmasked Memory Café, where we’ll be exploring the rich and varied history of Shibden Hall, Calderdale’s Grade II* listed jewel dating back to 1420/1.
This welcoming and relaxed session will take you on a journey through over 600 years of stories, including:
- The intense disputes between the Oates and Savile families in the late 15th Century
- The growth and prosperity of the Waterhouse era
- The extraordinary legacy of the Lister family, including diarist Anne Lister and antiquarian John Lister
With free coffee and cake and a warm, community-focused atmosphere, our Memory Cafe is ideal for adults, carers, and anyone who enjoys history, storytelling and connection.
