Northern Broadsides presents: Crime and Punishment | Victoria Theatre Halifax

Adapted and directed by Laurie Sansom

This unique event takes place with the audience seated on the stage of the Victoria Theatre for a more intimate experience.

In the heart of a bustling city, a penniless student murders in cold blood. He is caught in a spiral of paranoia and delusion as a cunning detective circles. Only the chance of love offers a way out.

What drives a young man to murder? This powerful production explores a society where some people will do anything to survive.

Northern Broadsides bring their bold and playful style to Dostoyevsky's classic novel, with his huge canvas of larger-than-life characters brought to life by just three actors.

There will be a post show Q&A following the performance on Wednesday 25 March

The performance at 1:30pm on Thursday 26 March will have a British Sign Language Interpreter.

Crime and Punishment contains acts of violence, references to animal cruelty, brief references to suicide and some strong language. There is also a gun shot sound effect. For further details on content guidance, click here.

The age guidance is age 12+.
