Overview
Discover simple ways to run lower-carbon events & leave with a ready-to-use Carbon Reduction Plan, at this free, interactive workshop.
Want to make your events more sustainable but aren't sure where to start?
Join this free, fully funded interactive workshop designed for event organisers across West Yorkshire. Working alongside other event organisers, you'll explore practical ways to reduce the environmental impact of your events whilst maintaining great experiences.
The session will begin with an informal 30 minute Q&A on sustainability, where partipants can ask questions and get practical advice. Adrian Balcombe, Business Sustainability Manager at West Yorkshire Combined Authority, can help with questions such as:
- How can sustainability practices help my event save money and reduce the carbon footprint?
- How do I start measuring a carbon footprint?
- How do I engage my suppliers?
This will be followed by a 90 minute Carbon Reduction Planning workshop. Through facilitated discussion and collaborative activities, you'll identify the areas where your events generate the most carbon emissions, explore realistic solutions, and prioritise actions that are achievable for your organisation.
By the end of the session, you'll have a simple four-stage Carbon Reduction Plan that can support future event planning, funding bids, and sustainability statements for event applications.
