Migration Yorkshire’s 2024 Yorkshire Integration Festival will be held at The Piece Hall on Saturday 21 September. The festival is a family-friendly celebration of the positive impact made by migrants and refugees in Yorkshire and Humber, showcasing the diverse range of cultures and customs that make our region a special place to live.
Little Amal, a 12-foot puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee and a global symbol of human rights, is taking a symbolic journey through Halifax town centre as part of the festival, in collaboration with CultureDale and Handmade Productions. Little Amal will experience the best of our welcoming, resilient community, with the procession beginning at Halifax Town Hall at 11am and proceeding down to join the rest of the Festival at The Piece Hall by midday. Other activities will also be happening in Northgate Courtyard from 9am.
