Claire Murray is an expressive painter based at Dean Clough in Fletchers Mill. With over 37 years of experience, she has taught, exhibited widely and developed an established studio practice, with work held in private collections internationally.
In A Light to my Path, Claire Murray explores the landscape as both a physical and spiritual space, using it as a metaphor to reflect on themes of light and darkness, hope and uncertainty. Her expressive paintings consider the shifting relationship between people and the natural world, occupying a space between beauty and fragility.
Building on ideas from her previous exhibition Grounded (2025/26), this new body of work continues her exploration of the elemental qualities of the British landscape and its deeper symbolic meaning.
